Nutrition includes other essential nutrients which are not included as vitamins - dietary minerals, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids.
A major review of nearly 40 years of research around the relationship between disease and vitamin deficiencies was published in 2002. It was recommended that all adults take a multivitamin every day after the publication of that scientific review. In addition to the multivitamin, it was recommended that adults should also have a nutritious diet. .
It was recognized that some groups of people are more at risk of certain vitamin deficiencies than other people. However, adequate intakes of vitamins play a tremendously important role in the body, and so it's important for all adults to get adequate intakes of vitamins.
Each vitamin plays a different role in supporting our body's health.

1. I love the picture of the market and all the colors. This is what gets me in trouble--good trouble--when I go to the market. I end up buying twice as much as I intended because it's all so attactive. Nature's way of saying "you need to eat this"? 2. I liked the links you have and I was especially interested in info on relieving carpal tunnel with mangosteen juice. Good info for me.
good hub! I'm a big believer in all you say! You might enjoy one of my healthy eating hubs, http://hubpages.com/hub/fruity-tooty-beauty Silly name, good info. Best to you!
I am writing to you with a question that is probably a little unusual for you to hear and probably not that important in relation to others I'm sure, but I do hope you'll answer me! In relation to a portion of vegetables which you state is 80g, I often eat a full bag of frozen / fresh vegetables in a day, i.e. 1kg! I may have had a salad for lunch also and maybe some tomatoes on bread as a snack. I would guess therefore that sometimes I may be eating up to 20 portions of vegetables in one day. I would probably have 2-3 fruit also.
Im a firm believer that everything should be done in moderation - although it doesn't look like it now that Ive noticed how much Ive been eating! I do exercise a bit and eat these because I'm often hungry.
My question for you though is- is this excessive? and what would your recommendations be?
I also have a question for you in relation to wholegrain or brown rice cakes? What is your opinion on them- are they as good as eating the real thing i.e. brown rice ? or are they still too processed, I find them very convenient!
